ArtWalk Makeover

In order to keep an event that has been around 15 years innovative and exciting and continue to attract participatns and patrons it is time to give ArtWalk a makeover.

The Cultural Affairs Division desires to compete with other large regional art events that are once or twice a year with more resources.

We want to draw patrons from outside communities and continue the goal of making Ventura "California's New Art City.

On a limited budget ArtWalk has continuted to grow in size. In order to maximize the impact of our resources and marketing efforts we are reformatting ArtWalk to a twice annual event.

So... what's involved in the new format?

  • Community art workshops culminating in a parade
  • Temporary Public Art Installations
  • After Parties
  • Widespread Marketing

How will the vision be accomplished?

  • Creation of ArtWalk Board and Committes to assist with promotions, operations, recruitment of volunteers and sponsorships

  • Further develop existing partnerships with local arts organizations
  • Marketing to outside communities
  • Working collaboratively with the Downtown Ventura Organization
  • Working together!
